1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The placing of an order with Cornfield publishing Ltd (Cornfield Advertiser) will signify the acceptance of our terms and conditions.
 
2. DESIGN & CHARGES
a) If you have requested that your advert be designed by Cornfield Publishing Ltd, it is your responsibility to ensure that you give us the correct information about your business and the details you want included in your advertisement, prior to our deadline date.
b) Copy for your advertisement should be sent before the copy deadline date. Please check for details of our copy dates.
c) We reserve the right to charge a design fee of £20 per advert. Advert design does not include logo design, branding design, etc... and we reserve the right to charge, with the consent of the customer, an agreed design fee when we deem extra work is needed on your advert.
d) Any changes required to current adverts must be provided prior to our copy deadline date, otherwise we reserve the right to print a previously published advert, which you agree to pay for.
e) Advert designs (for first insertions) not approved by our deadline date will be invoiced in full, but not published.
f) Whilst every effort is made to minimise errors in advertisements, mistakes do sometimes occur. Advertisers or their agents should therefore check their advertisements and inform us of any errors immediately. Responsibility cannot be accepted for more than one incorrect insertion. Typographical or minor changes which do not affect the value of the advertisement, do not qualify for republication or allowances.
g) Any advert-editorial/article/design created by Cornfield Publishing Ltd cannot be used in another publication or advertising medium (e.g. website) without the written approval of Cornfield Publishing Ltd. A fee will be payable to Cornfield Publishing Ltd if an advertisers wishes to re-use an advert/editorial/article/design in this way.
 
3. ACCEPTANCE OF ADVERTS
a) Advertisements submitted to us should be in one of the following formats: MS Publisher, MS Word, MS Power Point, JPEG, Bitmap, TIFF or PDF in a minimum of 300dpi. Images may be submitted by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or sent to us on a disk.
b) We take no responsibility for the content of your advert. It is your responsibility to ensure that your advert is legal and copyright free. We cannot accept ads which you do not have permission to copy, e.g. from a Yellow Pages advertisement.
c) We reserve the right to refuse advertisements which may be defamatory or offensive or which promote products that may be considered indecent. We also reserve the right to refuse to accept advertisement of inferior quality to our expected standards.
d) Any adverts supplied in JPEG, pdf or any other pre-prepared format will be inserted into the publication as supplied and will be assumed not to require copy approval. These files should be supplied at a minimum of 300dpi. No responsibility can be taken for the print quality of any advert supplied at a lower resolution. These files may be re-sized to fit the appropriate space.
 
4. PAYMENT
a) Our invoice terms are 14 days unless specifically agreed otherwise. When you book your advert you are agreeing to pay the current advert price by the due date. In cases of overdue accounts we will add a late payment charge of £15. Also please be advised that, in accordance with European Directive 2000/35/ec, a debt recovery fee of £40 will be charged, In addition to any court costs incurred.
b) Any discounts are offered on the strict understanding that accounts are paid by the due date. We reserve the right to invoice any such discounts to accounts which become overdue.
c) Advertisement bookings for one month only, must be paid for in full upon booking by credit/debit card.
d) Advertisement bookings for a period of more than one month duration, unless paid in full upon booking, are strictly first month’s payment by credit/debit card upon booking with the remaining payments being paid by monthly Direct Debit or recurring credit/debit card payments.
 
5. CANCELLATION OF ADVERTS.
a) It is your responsibility to advise us in writing at least 14 days before the copy deadline date of the issue concerned if you wish to cancel your advert. Failure to do so will result in your advert being printed which you will be invoiced for and agree to pay.
b) If you have taken advantage of free editorial space as part of your booking and cancel your booking before the whole booking is fulfilled, a new invoice will be raised to include the cost of the free space, which you agree to pay in full.
c) If you book a series of adverts and have received a discount on the series of bookings, and subsequently cancel one or more month’s insertions, you agree that the discount on the whole booking will be lost. A new invoice will be raised for the non-discounted rate, which you agree to pay in full.
 
6. OTHER
a) We can make no guarantees that your advert will be successful therefore we are unable to offer you a refund if you do not receive the expected response. The cost of your advert covers the cost of print and delivery to homes and businesses in our distribution area. For the greatest chance of success we recommend that you advertise for three or more issues. As the readers become familiar with your advertisement, they are more likely to remember you should they need your product or service at a later date.
b) Neither Party shall be liable to the other in respect of any non-performance of its obligations by reason of any act of God, civil war or strife, act of foreign enemy, invasion, war, satellite failure, legal enactment, governmental order or regulation, industrial action, trade dispute, lock-out, riot or any other cause beyond their respective control provided always that in any such even the duration of the agreement between the parties shall be extended over which such event continues, but otherwise such even will not affect any obligation Advertiser to purchase any number of advertising spots between Advertiser and Cornfield Publishing Ltd.
