Solihull Mayor Flo Nash showed she could stand the heat as she cut the ribbon at a new kitchen showroom in Shirley.

Around 25 well-wishers and fellow business owners turned out for the opening of the new Dream Doors showroom in Stratford Road.

Business owner and father-of-four Graham Phipps, 35, said: “It was great to see so many people here. Everything went very well with no hiccups. We’ve already had a few enquiries and welcomed in a few people.”

Graham, who is originally from Hinckley in Leicestershire, added: “I can promise customers a warm welcome without any pressure - that’s the atmosphere I’m trying to go for. When people come in – it’s often couples – they want to make a decision together in their own time. That’s what I want for them too.”

Among the guests at the opening was Mayor Flo Nash and her consort Alan Nash, Graham’s partner Alexandra Breakspear, who will be working with him, and David Howle, the owner of Dream Doors Worcester.

Also present was Dream Doors’ Business Development Manager Rick Howcroft and Director of UK Sales Ed Brewer.

Dream Doors specialises in replacement kitchen doors and fully fitted kitchens.
