Our cover star for our August issues is national sweetheart and household name, Alesha Dixon, set to perform at this year's Solihull Summer Fest on Saturday 25 August!

An accomplished singer, songwriter and dancer, Alesha started her musical career at just 19 years old as part of the R&B/garage girl group, Mis-teeq. Alongside friends Sabrina Washington, Su-Elise Nash and Zena McNally, Alesha rose to fame achieving seven UK Top 10 singles and releasing two popular albums. After reaching success in the US with their single ‘Scandalous’, the members of Mis-teeq eventually parted ways to pursue solo careers.

Alesha’s hugely triumphant second solo album, ‘The Alesha Show’, was released in 2008 and featured hit singles ‘The Boy Does Nothing’, ‘Do You Know The Way It Feels’ and Brit Award-nominated ‘Breathe Slow’, raising the singer’s career to new heights. The album followed Alesha’s champion title as the winner of Strictly Come Dancing (2007), showcasing further her incredible dancing abilities and likeable character to the nation. Alesha secured her place on the judging panel of the popular show following her win; a position she held for many years before breaking into the UK talent show scene.

Alesha was also hired as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, a move that allowed her to share her musical expertise and offer guidance to hopeful candidates. Her impressive portfolio includes several television hosting positions, as well as a vast repertoire of popular songs both from her solo career and time with Mis-teeq.

Fans can expect to hear some of her greatest hits over the bank holiday weekend in what will undoubtedly be an incredible live performance, with songs guaranteed to have crowds singing along. Expect a mixture of up-beat dance-pop tracks from Alesha’s fantastic solo albums alongside a few soulful R&B tunes from her days as part of a successful girl band.

This year’s Solihull Summer Fest is set to be the biggest and best yet. Now in its third year, thousands are expected to descend on Tudor Grange Park over the August Bank Holiday weekend for what is it fast becoming one of the most popular music events of summer.
