It’s the news that Birmingham’s cocktail-connoisseurs have been waiting for: Birmingham Cocktail Weekend is back, bigger and better than ever before for 2017. The festival will return to the city from 14-16 July for the third year running and will sees cocktail-revelers embark upon the city in a three-day spectacular.

The world-famous premium Cognac house, Courvoisier, has been named as headline sponsor of Birmingham Cocktail Weekend 2017 and will take up residence at Hotel du Vin for the weekend. ‘The Courvoisier Hub’ will be at the centre of the event with wristband collections and exclusive tasting sessions making it the perfect starting point for the cocktail adventure.

Building on the past two years’ success, Birmingham Cocktail Weekend is increasing its capacity for 2017; with more venues taking part in the trail. The first release of wristbands will go on sale on 28 January, with a second release on 1 March.

Speaking about Birmingham Cocktail Weekend’s return, founder and organiser Alex Nicholson-Evans said:

“After two incredibly successful years and seeing the festival’s support grow, I am so excited to be bringing BCW back for 2017. We’re thrilled to be working with Courvoisier and Hotel Du Vin, and we’re very excited to see what signature cocktail the teams create together. Birmingham Cocktail Weekend 2017 is set to be a fantastic event!”

Birmingham Cocktail Weekend is all about getting people to step outside of their comfort zone, encouraging them to venture beyond their local watering hole and regular tipple to discover new venues and experiment with new flavours.

This year, the event is even more impressive and is set to recruit even more of Birmingham’s best-loved bars across a wider city centre footprint, with announcements taking place over the coming months.

Courvoisier Global Brand Ambassador Rebecca Asseline said: “Birmingham is an incredible city with a fantastic cocktail culture and I am so pleased to be a part of this festival. During the weekend, Courvoisier will be offering its Courvoisier Espresso Martini made with Courvoisier VSOP, fresh coffee and coffee liqueur introducing consumers to a new and different way to enjoy cognac.”

Whilst you wait for details of the  venues already signed up, you can get your hands on the first release of wristbands from Saturday, 28 February, priced at £8. Once the limited number of wristbands have gone, a second release will go on sale on Wednesday, 1 March, priced at £10.
