Cornfield’s Content Editor caught up with nationally-loved, Strictly sensation Anton Du Beke ahead of the release of his debut album From The Top, featuring old school swing classics, original songs and surprising covers. The much-anticipated album, dedicated to Anton’s wife Hannah and close friend, the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, is a celebration of the songs that have inspired the entertainer throughout his career. Produced by award-winning producer, Brian Rawlings, and featuring vocals from quintet The Overtones, From The Top is a wonderful collection of inspired tracks – a credit to Anton’s creative repertoire. 

Former frontman of the New Wave group Haircut 100, Nick Heyward, will return to Birmingham as part of his brand new UK tour. Following the release of his critically acclaimed new album Woodland Echoes, the musician announced his return to the stage. I spoke to Nick about his musical history, writing process and the connection between his music and nature in an interview featuring Yorkshire accents and a lot of laughs.

World-famous musicians and 80s disco sensation Sister Sledge have recently announced their new UK tour ’40 Years of Disco’, heading to Birmingham’s Genting Arena March 2018. The sisters will be headlining alongside other huge names in Disco, making the event one you do not want to miss. Cornfield caught up with Kim Sledge, who reflected back upon her incredible 40-year career alongside her sisters, transitional yet optimistic present, and positive hopes for the future. 

We spoke to Jim Lauderdale following the announcement of his upcoming UK tour with Brandy Clark, which will be coming to Birmingham Town Hall this October. His latest single, I Love You more, features on his new album London Southern. Throughout his three-decade career, Lauderdale has helped pave the way for the current Americana movement, recording albums and writing songs that cross genres from country, rock, folk and bluegrass.
